Sergei Polunin was the youngest ever principal dancer in the Royal Ballet and he walked away from the height of his career to re-invent himself. You see his incredible Natural Energy 5 movement leading him from the top of his head. His turns, his leaps, all of his movement is lead by the top of his head, as if he revolves around it.
In this video he talks about why he left the Royal Ballet - I learned something new about Natural Energy 5 from Sergei. I was again reminded to be careful about applying the stereotypes and staying with the full experience when feeling a persons energy. At first I thought this was Natural Energy 7, talking about leaving something behind. But his career was far from dead, in fact it was just starting from many people' s perspective. I learned the Natural Energy 5 has the ability to purposefully reinvent themselves when they are ready.
I have also witnessed this as when a part of the "map" completes - and new information comes to light a currently held set of beliefs becomes an old-set and a new set can replace it. This can come through a significant life changing event, a momentary powerful experience or the achievement of a long-held goal. All of those things seem to free people of Natural Energy 5 to move to reinvent and start from a brand new place.
The structure of the Ballet was not allowing Sergei to pursue his creativity, he had to "Hit the delete button" to destroy that which he had created in order to re-start his growth. Once the challenge had been mastered, the goal achieved, there is a new one to build, a new path, a new set of possibilities to pursue, and to give structure and understanding. His decisions in the context of Natural Energy 5 make complete sense. While they may be perceived as many things by people of other energies, to him it was the only possibility - clear the map and start again from nothing. To stop learning and growing is quite painful for Natural Energy 5 - they must continue to learn to feel alive.
Here are some examples of his Facial Expression of Activation:
